History
From residence to boutique hotel
The start of something magical
Castello di Casalborgone, a residence of noble charm, was built in the 12th century on the hills surrounding Turin.
The Broglia family residence
The current structure was built by the Broglia brothers between 1640 and 1658. A sumptuous Baroque residence that, for over two centuries, was the vibrant center of the Counts of Broglia’s social life.
A new leaf for the residence
After years of neglect, the estate was purchased and carefully restored by Gary Douglas, who transformed it into a refined residence welcoming travelers from around the world.
The inauguration of the hotel
After a careful restoration, Castello di Casalborgone reopened as a boutique hotel, where the past comes alive in a new light alongside modern comforts.

Atmosphere
The luxury of silence
In our boutique hotel, the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and time slows, gaining new meaning and value. At the Castello, strict schedules, commitments, and worries fall away, giving way to intellect and absolute peace. Silence is a rare luxury, a privilege we wish to preserve. For this reason, the property features no televisions and maintains a serene atmosphere free from loud music and noise. Welcome the silence, at last.
Respect for the historic home
Etiquette
Through a thoughtful restoration, Castello di Casalborgone preserves the charm of its origins. Period furnishings, fine drapery, and charming details have been thoughtfully selected to bring the refined historical atmosphere to life. Every corner reveals rare and precious pieces, carefully preserved in honor of the estate’s distinctive character. As our guest, we kindly ask that you help us care for the estate by honoring its traditions and etiquette.
